A forehead lift or "browlift"
is a surgical procedure that restores a more refreshing
and youthful look to the upper part of the face. The procedure
minimizes forehead creases, drooping eyebrows, hooding
over the eyes and frown lines.
In a forehead lift the muscles and tissue
that cause the frown lines and droopy eyelids are altered
to smooth the forehead and raise the eyebrows. There are
two techniques that may be used for the forehead lift.
The more traditional technique is when the incision is
hidden in or just below the hairline. The other technique
is performed doing an endoscopic lift which involves the
use of an instrument that allows minimal incisions.
Dr. Barber will consult with you to determine
which
method will be best for you. The best candidates for the
procedure are men or women over 40 wishing to maximize
the effects of aging on the face. A forehead lift is often
performed in conjunction with a facelift and often times
with eyelid surgery.
