The removal of unwanted hair is possible
with the use of the proper laser. If your hair is coarse
dark hair, the laser works well, however it is not effective
for blonde, gray or light brown hair. The most common
areas for hair removal are the bikini area, the back,
underarms, the beard and the lower legs. It requires anywhere
from 3 to 10 treatments to remove most of the unwanted
hair. After each treatment, all of the hair will usually
fall out and over time about half will come back. After
multiple treatments, the amount of hair that grows back
is reduced such that no further treatments are necessary.
It is almost impossible to get rid of all the hair in
an area; however marked reduction in the numbers of hairs
is achievable. The procedure is done in the office and
usually does not require any anesthesia. Risks include
scarring but this is rare, and failure to remove all the
hair desired.
