The male breast reduction procedure is commonly utilized for men with a condition known as gynecomastia, or enlarged breasts in men. This condition occurs most frequently in teenage boys. Most of the time the condition will resolve on its own once the teenager is about 16 to 18. However, in some cases it does not. The breasts can range from only slightly large to full female appearing breasts and can be quite painful. The condition is most often treated with a combination of ultrasonic assisted liposuction combined with a small incision to remove any residual tissue that does not reduce with liposuction.
In order to be a good candidate for this procedure, a patient does need to be within 10-15% of their ideal body weight and be at least 18 years of age or older.
Length of Procedure
