Facial implants are used by plastic surgeons to bring a more balanced look to the features of your face. The most common implants are chin implants. They may help strengthen a jawline or bring the chin into balance with the rest of the face. In many cases, chin implants are typically integrated into another surgical facial procedure such as a face, cheek, and/or neck lift. If you are looking for improvement in your appearance a chin implant may be the right choice for you.
Length of Surgery
Typically, the doctor will perform this procedure in our onsite AAAHC accredited surgical suite under general anesthesia. As a stand alone procedure, a chin augmentation takes about 1 hour and the patient can expect to go home within 1-2 hours after the procedure is complete. If this procedure is being combined with another surgical procedure, during the consultation your doctor will go over the length of surgery.
Downtime
For a standard chin augmentation, the average patient can expect to return to work in about 7 days and unrestricted activities, such as exercise, within 2 weeks. If combining a chin implant with another facial procedure the downtime will vary.
