Appointment Cancellation Policy

The Barber Center kindly requests at least 24 hours notice when cancelling or moving an appointment.  We understand life happens and that is not always possible, however, patients that habitually late cancel or patients who no show an appointment will be required to pay a $75 deposit in order to schedule subsequent appointments or can be discharged from the practice.

 

Appointment Confirmation Policy

Confirming your appointment is very important.  Our providers are in high demand and more often than not have a wait-list. Our office attempts to confirm appointments 2 business days in advance via email and then 24 hours in advance via phone if we have not heard back from a patient.  If an appointment is not confirmed by 2:00 PM the previous day it will be removed from the schedule and offered to a patient on the wait-list.  Please be sure to keep your contact information up-to-date to insure we are able to reach you.

 

BMI Policy

All the procedures we offer here at the Barber Center are considered elective and for that reason Dr. Barber has adopted very strict guidelines to keep patients as safe as possible.  One of those policies is his body mass index, or BMI, policy.  Patients with a higher BMI are at greater risk of complication not only while under anesthesia but have a greater risk of post-operative complications as well.  For that reason, Dr. Barber requires patients be at a healthy BMI prior to scheduling a consultation for surgical procedures or Coolsculpting.  Our staff is required to screen patients prior to scheduling a consultation for these procedures.  If you’re unsure of what your current BMI is, your PCP should be able to provide this information.  You can also visit one of the helpful BMI calculator tools online such as this one offered by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute by clicking here.

 

Email Policy

Communication with our practice through our website and/or via email is not encrypted and is therefore not secure.  Use of the internet and email as a method of communication is for your convenience, and by using this form of electronic communication, you assume the risk of unauthorized use.  By initiating contact via email or providing your email when scheduling/filling out paperwork you agree to hold Barber Center for Plastic Surgery, its doctors and affiliates, harmless from any unauthorized use of your personal information by outside parties who may steal this information by unlawful means.  If you prefer not to receive communication via email, please notify the practice.

 

Payment Policy

We require payment in full at the time services are rendered.  If you have any questions about your fees or charges, please ask prior to treatment.  Information on the forms of payment we accept and financing options can be found on our Financial Information page.

 

Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy and your medical information is at the core of our business. We recognize our obligation to keep your information secure and confidential whether on paper or the Internet.  Refund Policy

All product, procedure and service sales at the Barber Center are final. To insure you receive the proper procedure to address your concerns, we offer free consultations for many of the services we offer.  These consultations are important and help our staff recommend the best possible treatment to address your concerns.  It is also the time for you to ask questions about the treatment, downtime, cost, etc so that you may make an informed decision about what is right for you.

 

Skin Care Return Policy

All of the skin care products we carry are considered pharmaceutical grade and are physician exclusive.  Just like any other prescription from a physician or pharmacy, we cannot return or refund products once they have left our office.  We make every effort to match a patient with the right skin care product(s).  Our licensed medical aesthetician will consult with you at no charge to assist you with selecting the right products for your skin care goals.  We provide follow-up appointments and phone calls to guide you through the process of medical skin care.

 

 Smoking Policy

As stated in the BMI policy above, all the procedures we offer here at the Barber Center are considered elective and for that reason Dr. Barber has adopted very strict guidelines to keep patients as safe as possible. Another of these policies is his smoking policy.  Patients who smoke, even occasionally or socially, are at greater risk of complication not only while under anesthesia but have a greater risk of post-operative complications as well.  In order to be considered a good candidate for surgery one of the criteria that Dr. Barber requires is that patients be completely smoke free for 3 months prior to scheduling their initial consultation.  Patients will need to remain smoke free for at least 3 months post-op as well. Our staff is required to screen patients prior to scheduling a consultation for surgical procedures.  The only exception is for a breast augmentation or blepharoplasty.

 

Surgical Payment Policy

A $500 deposit is required in order to book a surgery.  This deposit must be paid via cash or check.  The remaining balance of the procedure is due 21 days in advance of your surgery date.  Click the link to learn more about Financial Information.
